Let me tell you I am not a person who would stay in this place for more than two days. Because the unbound beauty of Triund (a treck from Mcleod Ganj via Dharamkot) is my love! But when I recently planned a treck to Triund with my friends during the extended holiday break during mid August, I was stuck in Mcleodganj. The rain made sure that we dont treck and are stuck. Well, as I mentioned I cannot stay here for more than two days and so it happened. The place was crowded, like whole of North India had planned there vacation there. Men were drunk and dancing on the streets. You cannot beat the long lines of waiting in cafes. So that day I decided that I wont plan a vacation during public holidays. Well that is not the subject of this post.

Being Stuck in Mcleod Ganj, I discovered the beauty of the place. Being a travel photographer I feel that the place is beautiful to capture nature, street, portraits, food and landscapes. The main market area is not that big. It is small and there are endless activities going on. It is like a feast for a street photographer. Secondly, as all the hotel’s were booked, we got shelter in one of the most excluded lanes of Mcleodganj. Well, I was able to see the whole city from another perspective and captured it my photographs. Thirdly, there are endless cafe’s with amazing food plus some cafe’s  serve amazing food with a view. Well! if you are an aspiring food photographer, you can explore a lot here. There are small bakeries too which serve economical desserts. The light is usually soft during the day making it more beneficial for any food photographer. If you love taking portraits the place is filled with such beautiful people who are generally sweet to let you take there pictures. But,  not always. So it is better that you take a permission from the person first. As a photographer I feel we should respect the will of the person too especially when taking portraits. Lastly, if you are a landscape of a nature lover like me! Mcleodganj has so much to offer you. Bhagsu is definitely one place you should not miss. But also there are many seasonal waterfalls that are less enjoyed by people. I am sharing some my pictures with this post. Please send feedback and share what you feel about the place and what are your favourite memories from Mcleodganj.
